Python is one of the world’s most popular programming languages and video games are pretty popular too! Combine them both and you’ve got the recipe for the perfect learning experience. Students will start off on some purely text-based games, including a text-based adventure game, that will enable them to get to grips with the basics of the Python language. The next stage will be to take a deep dive into the PygameZero library for making 2D games. This will include a more in-depth look at common patterns in game programming and give students a better understanding of how to develop their programs and games, based around making a series of different games to explore different aspects of the process.
