Educated at Wycombe Abbey and Oxford, Cressida went on to be called to the bar as a scholar of Lincoln’s Inn. It was not long into her career as a barrister, however, that she realised her real passion lay not in litigating people’s problems, but in teaching, encouraging and inspiring youngsters to achieve their own academic goals. University was an inspiring time for her and still informs much of her engagement with pupils today; from receiving top class tutoring from Oxford Dons, to graduating as a college scholar with a Double First in her Ancient & Modern History degree. Cressida has been successfully helping Oxbridge candidates across all subjects through every step of the application process – course & college choices, wider reading, personal statements, subject tests & interviews - for the past 12 years. Oxbridge preparation sessions are like college tutorials. Cressida knows that admissions tutors are looking for students with the passion, curiosity, and mental agility to engage intellectually with leading experts in their subject. To do this she tries to make candidates aware of their own thinking process, to structure their answers logically and be flexible in their ideas. She encourages them to read widely and critically, analyse, draw parallels, and pose questions to which there is no obvious answer. A successful interview is much like a weekly tutorial/supervision – a stimulating discussion for both candidate and tutor. Her approach encourages candidates to go deeper into their subject and start thinking like an undergraduate. Often this had led to a greater love of the course and so their enthusiasm shines through at interview This session is priced per hour and in proportion thereof.
